Her work is expressed through accumulation. Acrylic & oil paint are layered on fabric, paper & fiber-based materials. Moody colors, bold marks, smears & glazes saturate richly textured, tactile surfaces throughout her work.

Cherise's long career as a hairstylist has deeply influenced her desire to express the inner landscape. She pulls inspiration from her own personal exploration & she also reflects on years of diverse conversional intimacy experienced while behind the chair engaging with her clients.
