Cherise Atkinson

Art

I am Cherise Atkinson, an artist living in Quincy, California. My practice explores the energies of enoughness, abundance, and boundlessness. I am constantly observing where abundance exists within the human experience, as well as the mental and emotional influences that cultivate a real sense of sufficiency and then exceed beyond.

I work with both acrylics and oil paints, layering them on paper, fabric, and fiber-based materials. Bold marks, smears, and accumulations of earthy color saturate richly textured, tactile surfaces throughout my work. My practice continues to evolve as I explore the textures and colors that could expose abundance. Ever encouraging abundance to become recognizable, accessible and even familiar on the canvas.
